This was the first Western Washington University versus Central Washington University basketball game I've been to, and it was fantastic. Western long standing rivalry with Central brought out ROOT Sports and Western's school spirit. It's an awesome sight to see Western's gym filled. I've never been much of a believer in a crowd being able change the feeling of the game, but Thursday night changed my mind. It left me wanting more. The game came down to the wire. Rico Wilkins traveled the length of the court and found Paul Jones under the net in 5.5 seconds. Jones scored a layup putting Western up by 1 with 2.2 seconds left in the game. Central couldn't make it close enough for a shot with Wilkins shadowing their every move. As soon as the buzzer signaled the end of the game, the crowed rushed the floor. It was pure madness, it was pure bliss.
